“Armas Launis recounts in Suomen Kuvalehti, in 1934, that he visited Huovila, then a middle-class student at the high school, with a larger group, at the turn of the century. Launis says he remembers [Carl Constantin] Collin’s shyness, but ‘once inside the house, this characteristic was no longer noticeable in his host. Like a regular companion, he entertained us, the guests, by telling us interesting anecdotes from his travels.’”
